3.4.5 Continuing Professional Education

A. Purpose

It is the purpose of this policy to provide guidelines on policies and procedures related to continuing professional education.

Continuing professional education is designed for professionals with undergraduate degrees who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills by participating in non-credit experience related to their careers. 

D. Policy

The University of Texas at Tyler may offer continuing professional educational post- baccalaureate opportunities consistent with its mission.

F. Procedures

Continuing professional education and professional development activities are coordinated within each college. The dean of each college is responsible for establishing specific policies and procedures governing the offering of non-credit courses in that unit. The aforementioned policies and procedures shall be reviewed and approved by the Provost or designee of the Provost and the President.

Student fees and faculty compensation are established on an individual basis. 

G. Review

Under the direction of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, this policy shall be reviewed every five (5) years.
