2.1.2 Public Disclosure

A. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to affirm the university’s obligation to public disclosure.

D. Policy 

The University of Texas at Tyler shall provide to its students, constituents, and the public information that is complete, accurate, timely, accessible, clear and sufficient. 

E. Responsibilities

President, All Vice Presidents, Chief Legal Officer, and Chief of Police

F. Procedures

Among the information provided to the public on the university’s website is:

  • The current catalog which provides the mission statement and identifies the obligations and responsibilities of both students and the University. Archival editions of prior catalogs are available for former and returning students.
  • The locations and programs and services available at off-campus instructional locations.
  • Statements of goals for student achievement and the success of students in achieving those goals.
  • The institution has readily available valid documentation for any statements and promises regarding such matters as program excellence, learning outcomes, success in placement, and achievements of graduates or faculty.
  • Accurate information about its accreditation status.
  • Safety reports and policies regarding emergency notification warnings.

In addition, emergency notification warnings are distributed via our Patriot Alert system through emails, text messages, and phone calls.

All forms of print and electronic communications officially representing the institution are consistent with catalog content and accurately portray the conditions and opportunities available at the institution. 

The University of Texas at Tyler will provide documentation for any statements and promises regarding such matters as program excellence, learning outcomes, success in placement, and achievements of graduates or faculty.
