COMD 5352 Language Disorders in Children- 0-5

This course focuses on the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of language disorders in children from birth through age 5 years. The course discusses the various biological, cultural, and socioeconomic factors that influence normal language development. Students will learn about the etiology of language disorders and comorbid disorders. They will analyze case studies and develop diagnostic impressions and treatment plans. Around 20-30% of the content will address diagnosis and around 70-80% will focus on treatment. Students will administer diagnostic assessment batteries and design treatment plans with measurable goals.
