CRNA 7308 Biostatistics & Epidemiology for Evidence-Based Practice
This course integrates the principles and methodologies of epidemiology and biostatistics, emphasizing their application in assessing the determinants, distribution, and prevention strategies of diseases in populations. It provides students with the conceptual and analytical skills necessary to measure the risk, incidence, and prevalence of morbidity and mortality, and to understand their impact on healthcare delivery. The course offers an applied approach to population-based epidemiologic research, including a discussion on statistical analysis and causal inference. It also covers the fundamentals of biostatistics, equipping students with the skills to critically evaluate research for evidence-based practice, with a particular focus on understanding the alignment between research designs and statistical tests.
