CRNA 7200 Nurse Anesthesia Crisis Management I
This is the initial course in a two-part series centered around the role of the nurse anesthesia resident (NAR) in simulated anesthesia crisis situations. The NAR will undertake assignments that emphasize crisis management in the perioperative environment. An exhaustive examination of crisis resource management and debriefing techniques will be conducted. Each NAR will engage in high-fidelity simulation and debriefing drills, equipping them for autonomous management in the clinical context post-graduation. Moreover, this course will integrate current anesthesia topics from scholarly sources, focusing on the morbidity and mortality of clinical cases, and will also adopt a team-oriented approach to crisis management as well.
