NURS 4322 Professional Nursing

This course focuses on the role of the professional nurse with an emphasis on the integration of problem solving with clinical judgment, teamwork, professional standards, client advocacy, and legal and ethical responsibilities in health care for diverse populations. A variety of clinical experiences will apply leadership principles to integrate the core values of social justice and human rights to the individual, society and to the profession. The course will analyze compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations and will identify and emphasize the professional characteristics of nursing. A focus will be on commitment to personal wellness and nurturing a spirit of inquiry that fosters flexibility and professional maturity.
