HIST 4366 Women at War in Europe

This course will examine the role of European women in war to better understand the many layers of their involvement from the medieval period to the present. This course will examine how women expanded their roles in war from camp follower, prostitute, bereaved family member to nurse and combatant. The course will also analyze the gendered concepts of femininity and masculinity during war and how those social concepts shifted throughout this time period.
