SOCW 3315 International Social Welfare
The course will examine social welfare in less developed countries (LDCs) and its impact on social well-being and human needs. Emphasis will be placed on the relationship between human rights, social and distributive justice, and social intervention. Topics will include human development, culture & and identity, gender inequality, globalization, economic climate, child labor, and political institutions. Students will engage in such activities as reading, analyzing, discussing, and writing pertinent to the above-mentioned topics. The course content will reflect the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) requirements for accreditation.
