ENGR 1000 Thriving in Engineering
Thriving in Engineering is for incoming College of Engineering students. The focus of this zero-credit course is to engage the students in some constructive practices and their adoption during their education time in engineering, to assist them in success through their chosen curricula through success in university life, and to begin preparing them for professional careers. The College of Engineering is focused on producing a "T" shaped individual who not only has the Technical knowledge (the vertical component) but also possesses the Interactional skills sometimes referred to as the "soft skills” (the horizontal component), which inevitably are the leadership necessities for the engineering profession and understanding how their investment in engineering education will prepare them for the realization of dividends in their career life.
