EDSI 6171 Dissertation in Practice II

The course is intended to guide Ed.D. students through the dissertation in practice process, including the identification of a problem of practice related to school improvement, the preparation of a proposal for approval by dissertation committee, a protocol for review and approval by Institutional Review Board and writing of the dissertation in practice, including the publication of multiple articles in educational journals. The focus of the dissertation in practice is on problems of practice with the goal of yielding generative impact on school improvement by developing and producing scholarly articles to contribute to the evidence base of the education profession.

Students must enroll in this course during their second year of study and continue to register in a dissertation in practice course until completion of the dissertation. 

Prerequisite

Students must complete 2 credits in EDSI 6170 - Dissertation in Practice I prior to enrolling in EDSI 6171.
