Scholarships
Scholarships offered at The University of Texas at Tyler are designed to attract and retain outstanding degree seeking students. To be considered, students must be accepted for admission to UT Tyler and if required, submit an application for scholarship on-line. A complete list of scholarships available to students is provided at www.uttyler.edu/scholarships/.
It is required that all scholarship applicants complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if they are eligible to submit a FAFSA. Awarding of academic scholarships is based primarily on predictors of academic success, such as high school class rank, standardized test scores, and prior college grades.

There are several individual and endowed scholarships awarded based on a student’s major or career interest. These scholarships range in criteria, requirements, and amounts.
Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative UT Tyler GPA in order to be eligible for a UT Tyler General Scholarship. Graduate students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative UT Tyler GPA in order to be eligible for a UT Tyler General Scholarship. Some scholarships require a 3.0 Undergraduate GPA and a 3.25 Graduate GPA.
Students must be enrolled full-time at the University of Texas at Tyler during a fall, spring, or summer semester in order to receive a UT Tyler General Scholarship. This means 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and 9 credit hours for graduate students.
Students who already have a Bachelor's Degree or are enrolled in the RN-BSN, GRALT, and CERT programs are not eligible for UT Tyler scholarships. Per the scholarship agreement, students receiving the Staff Development Scholarship, Employee Spouse Scholarship, or the Employee Dependent Scholarship are not eligible for additional UT Tyler scholarships.
