Fundamentals of biosensors; detection of DNA, proteins, and cells; design, selection, and operation of biosensing, transducer surfaces; characterization of biosensor performance, data interpretation, and label-free biochips; Techniques in modern integrated bio-MEMS fabrication; overview of bio-photonics. Three hours of lecture per week.
