Introduction to surveying including distance measurement, corrections, data analysis, use and interpretation of leveling, measurement of angles/directions, traverse adjustment, volumes, cross section and area computations, horizontal and vertical curves, and error theory. Methods and technologies such as Excel, MathCAD, global positioning system (GPS) and geographic information systems (GIS) used to manage data in surveying. Emphasis on the use of surveying reports and data.
