Student Scholastic Load
The minimum credit hour load to be considered a full-time undergraduate student is 12 semester hours during a fall or spring semester or six semester hours during a regular summer session. The maximum credit hour load permitted is 18 hours during a fall or spring semester, six hours during a regular summer session and six hours during long summer (Texas Administrative Code, Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter A, Rule ยง 4.6). Students wishing to exceed the maximum credit hour load must obtain permission from the Dean of the College of their major.
